Breaking News : 1000s priosners ran away

There's some news I wanna tell you. It's quite important and is really related to this blog. I should have broken up the news to you guys on 26th itself when I got to know about it, but better late than never.

What you are about to read is very very important.

I don't know how to tell it but I have to do it. So here it is:

On 26th Dec. 1000s of prisoners ran away from the prison and now they are ready to create a havoc. Who were they..?? Which prison ??
They were none other than my fellow friends who were caged by the ongoing exams and now they are free bird again much like me...!!

Finally exams are finished. Though they were over on 26th itself, I could not believe it till now..! And thanks to this now I am really enjoying the festival season. The exams went smoothly and if the examiner or the one who is going to check my answer sheets is a co-operating person, my results should also be smooth. Past two months were really tough but somehow I survived them. And now I am going to party..!!

So, it automatically concludes that the frequency of posts would improve and I wish even the quality. What would be I posting about..?? Well, it could be anything. It could be about a night I spent playing games or about a day I spent just sleeping like a log. It could be anything. It could be about ex-Hopenhagen or may be about some newly launched product or my new found love. Anything..!!

On this note, I wish you a very very happy and prosperous New Year 2010.

The most preciouse gift - Your Friendship

Last evening, I was just checking my mails, when I read this wonderful story. Thought to share it with you people. This is not mine at all and I have just posted it. If anyone of you happen to know the author of this short story, please let me know. I really wanna congratulate him for this wonderful piece and thank him for showing us the value of friendship.

One day, when I was a freshman in high school, I saw a kid from my class was walking home from school. His name was Kyle. It looked like he was carrying all of his books. I thought to myself, "Why would anyone bring home all his books on a Friday? He must really be a nerd."

I had quite a weekend planned (parties and a football game with my friends), so I shrugged my shoulders and went on. As I was walking, I saw a bunch of kids running toward him. They ran at him, knocking all his books out of his arms and tripping him so he landed in the dirt. His glasses went flying, and I saw them land in the grass about ten feet from him. He looked up and I saw this terrible sadness in his eyes.

My heart went out to him. As I handed him his glasses, I said, "Those guys are jerks. They really should get lives." He looked at me and said, "Hey thanks!" There was a big smile on his face.

It was one of those smiles that showed real gratitude.

I helped him pick up his books, and asked him where he lived. As it turned out, he lived near me, so I asked him why I had never seen him before. He said he had gone to private school before now. I would have never hung out with a private school kid before. We talked all the way home, and I carried some of his books. He turned out to be a pretty cool kid. I asked him if he wanted to play a little football with my friends. He said yes. We hung out all weekend and the more I got to know Kyle, the more I liked him, and my friends thought the same of him.

Monday morning came, and there was Kyle with the huge stack of books again. I stopped him and said, "Boy, you are gonna really build some serious muscle with this pile of books everyday!" He just laughed and handed me half the books.

Over the next four years, Kyle and I became best friends. When we were seniors, we began to think about college. Kyle decided on Georgetown, and I was going to Duke. I knew that we would always be friends, that the miles would never be a problem. He was going to be a doctor, and I was going for business on a football scholarship.

Kyle was valedictorian of our class. I teased him all the time about being a nerd. He had to prepare a speech for graduation. I was so glad it wasn't me having to get up there and speak. Graduation day, I saw Kyle. He looked great. He was one of those guys that really found himself during high school. He filled out and actually looked good in glasses. He had more dates than I had and all the girls loved him. Boy, sometimes I was jealous.

Today was one of those days. I could see that he was nervous about his speech. So, I smacked him on the back and said, "Hey, big guy, you'll be great!"

He looked at me with one of those looks (the really grateful one) and smiled. "Thanks," he said.

As he started his speech, he cleared his throat, and began. "Graduation is a time to thank those who helped you make it through those tough years. Your parents, your teachers, your siblings, maybe a coach... but mostly your friends. I am here to tell all of you that being a friend to someone is the best gift you can give them. I am going to tell you a story."

I just looked at my friend with disbelief as he told the story of the first day we met. He had planned to kill himself over the weekend. He talked of how he had cleaned out his locker so his Mom wouldn't have to do it later and was carrying his stuff home.

He looked hard at me and gave me a little smile. "Thankfully, I was saved. My friend saved me from doing the unspeakable."

I heard the gasp go through the crowd as this handsome, popular boy told us all about his weakest moment. I saw his Mom and dad looking at me and smiling that same grateful smile. Not until that moment did I realize its depth.

Never underestimate the power of your actions. With one small gesture you can change a person's life. For better or for worse. God puts us all in each other's lives to impact one another in some way. Look for God in others.

Let Pictures do the talking

Just was surfing the net, when stumbled upon these two pics. And really loved them. And this is the reason why me along with many more on earth love sharing sits like digg etc.

A question no one understands.

A simple plea that means so much.

Exam Update : Life goes on

These exams are creating a havoc in my life. I don't know what to say. I am just tired of it. This study is making me go nuts. More so because I along with these university's honored and learned professors know that what we have to study in colleges would help us just .01% in our life ahead.

Sometimes it just looks a waste of time. All the things that would actually help us to face the challenges of cruel world are not taught to us. Those are the things that we really wanna study. Those are the things that would actually make us more capable to face the life's challenges and would give us the strength to remain on our feet when the tsunami of troubles sweep over us. So, its a cry of help from a student who wants to study.

But you would say this is life. OK, I agree...!
Despite these dreadful exams, life goes on. I am more and more learning about myself ans believe it or not I am actually starting to like myself again..! There were bits of thing that I have like the simple pleasures of life. The happiness of a stroll around the park or a simple chat with your family. I am reliving these things and thanks to exam for these.

Also there were many birthdays this December And following the tradition a number of parties. And same is the case tomorrow, going to celebrate a friend's birthday tomorrow, Ekansh. Hoping for tomorrow to be a fun filled day and wishing I don't waste much of my time in partying and celebrating, and insert my head back into books.

So, This is it...!

Today I gave my final external practical of Circuits and Systems. And this marks the end of exams that marked the run-off to the main semester examinations of IPU. And from 14th December world would tremble as we, the budding engineer would walk to give their semester exams..!!

And if I say, I am ready for it, I would just be lying..!! I don't know even what to expect. And if there is anything to go by today's exam I should not hope much. Today's exam was a bad experience. Everything was alright but viva took its toll on me. And this is one of the main reasons I am dreading more and more these  upcoming exams..!! But as someone said, Umeed par duniya kaayam hai..!! (World is existing on hope..!), that's why I would be giving it my best shot and then would hope for the best.

Coming back on today. Today apart from being just a Saturday was also a special day in my friend, Shikhar's life. On very this day, 5th Dec, 20 years back he was born. Yeah, it was his birthday today..!! And so after the exam today we went to celebrate. And it was one giant celebration. We had loads of fun. We played a lot, ate a lot and most importantly laughed a lot. There were no tensions of upcoming exams or those which have been finished, it was just sheer celebration. Happy Birthday Shikhar...!!

And when I reached home, I was in no mood of studying. So left it for sometime tomorrow..!! It's amazing naa, how you always get to make some excuse for not studying..!! So I ended up on youtube surfing videos and landed on this particular video. It's really a nice watch and makes one wonder about the decisions one has taken. Were they just easy or the correct ones.

That's the truth of life. Whenever we are face with a dilemma, we have two options, right and wrong. Though how easy wrong one looks, it would lead you deeper into the problems. On the other hand, how difficult it seems the right one would always lead you to your desired destination. It would always be the path you have to take to succeed at the end.

So, choice is yours, Easy or Right..??

OOPS: Object Oriented Programming & SHEWAG..!!

This is a delayed post, I wanted to post it tomorrow only.
Yesterday I gave my OOPS exam and as I mentioned in my last post that I don't know about this 'S' thing and see my luck, I was asked the same thing in the viva..! And myself despite not knowing the answer was smiling with a grin larger than my face..!!

Practical went uneventful or should I say I never get a chance to understand what's happening..?

So, the story goes like this...

I woke up late in the morning and just somehow managed to get ready in time. And then I was off to college, but how it could be so simple..? In midway, I remembered I have forgotten my practical file and thus started the dash back home. The sprint I made from metro station to my home was so good that I do believe I would have been able to beat Mr. Bolt..!! It was one heck of sprint and I was so exhausted when I reached metro back after taking my file that I felt like just falling and letting what happen to the world...!

But I was not that brave to bunk my 'external practical'. So somehow I managed the strength and headed for the college, and when I reached college practical had been started well back and my teacher had just one thing to say, "At least you should have come today on time..!". Rest of the practical was uneventful apart from that 'S' thing. I still don't know what 'S' really is in OOPS.

After practical when I reached home, the first thing I did was to switch on the television as a cricket match is going on between India and Sri Lanka, and what I saw was mind blowing. Shewag had gone berserk and was playing like he is playing against some toddlers. It was a sight and believe me one of the best test innings I have ever seen. Be it a newbie or world's most successful bowler ever, all were taking a beating from Shewag. And that was when it struck to me that Shewag playing like this is on my OOPS exam is no mere coincidence and its because this is the answer to my 'S' puzzle.

So, finally I got the answer, S stands for Shewag..!!!

Today was my external practical of analog electronics. And it went well. Though it could have been better but still it was nice and am not complaining. I would like to mention my friend 'Ruchi' here. She really helped me and made me understand a chapter of which I had no understanding. Thank You Ruchi.

So that was it, and tomorrow I had got Circuit and System practical. Let's see, what world has in store for me tomorrow..!!

Data Structures Practical..!!

On the countdown to the main exams, i.e. semester exams by IP University, we have to give many more exams..
There are :-
  1. First internals
  2. 2nd internals
  3. 3rd internals
  4. internal practicals
  5. external practicals
Adding to all these there are innumerable number of assignments and project reports..! And you though life of a student was easy..!!

Well, nowadays my external practicals are going on,
and today was Data Structures practical.

Though by habit I was not versed very well with my syllabus but in the end it was a pleasant experience.
The external who had come was nice and my subject teacher was really co-operative. I had got a program to make programs on circular linked list and merge sort. It was something that I knew and by help of some of my friends (they had taught me the same before exam begin) I was able to crack it.

In the viva section, I was my usual self and answered all the questions..!! Though don't know what I answered was right or wrong..!! :P In all it was a nice exam and would not mine if every other practical of mine goes like this.

Now its turn of OOPS, object oriented programming. I don't know what 'S' stands for. May be just for the effect people use it..! And after that dreaded Circuit and systems and Analog Electronics.

I have my fingers crossed.
