Insurance Quote in Los Angeles

Inside and outside of Los Angeles, insurance is a necessity of life. It does not play on the level of food or shelter, but it does help to protect both of these. Without proper coverage, a family can find itself in trouble when problems arise.
If you own a car, you must have coverage in most states. And if you owe money on the car, you are likely required to carry even more. (Check about Los Angeles Car Insurance). If you let your policies lapse, you may find yourself facing penalties and fines from the government. And when the loan company gets wind of the lapse, you may lose your ride permanently. A qualified insurance agent can help you find the right coverage at an affordable price.

Insurance covers life policies as well. Life insurance provides a level of protection for your family in case something happens. No one likes to think of bad things happening. But you can't deny the truth that these are realities of life.

Promoting hockey with Awaaz

The period I was missing from my blogging space here, a lot was happening around me. One of the significant thing that occurred during this time was first trip for AWAAZ, my college society (I mentioned about it earlier). The trip was an excuse to promote hockey and have some fun. The response we got from our fellow friends for this was amazing and it exceeded our expectations by far.

A lot had gone behind this trip, a lot of hard work put up by many a people made it such a success. Making those banners and slogans was not an easy job and full credit it to all my fellow friends who made it possible.
As said, A picture speaks thousand words, here I would like to do pictures some talking...

Eight Lies of A Mother

It is a general saying, Internet is a explorer's heaven. And this is being repeatedly being proved right. And I happen to be no exception..!! Surfing around, I happen to encounter this story, Eight Lies of a Mother, and mark my words, it would touch you. I can't find the author of this wonderful piece. If you can, please let me know..!!

EIGHT LIES OF A MOTHER

This story begins when I was a child: I was born poor. Often we hadn’t enough to eat. Whenever we had some food, Mother often gave me her portion of rice. While she was transferring her rice into my bowl, she would say ‘Eat this rice, son! I’m not hungry.
This was Mother’s First Lie.
As I grew, Mother gave up her spare time to fish in a river near our house; she hoped that from the fish she caught, she could give me a little bit more nutritious food for my growth. Once she had caught just two fish, she would make fish soup. While I was eating the soup, mother would sit beside me and eat what was still left on the bone of the fish I had eaten; My heart was touched when I saw it. Once I gave the other fish to her on my chopstick but she immediately refused it and said, ‘Eat this fish, son! I don’t really like fish.
This was Mother’s Second Lie.
Then, in order to fund my education, Mother went to a Match Factory to bring home some used matchboxes which she filled with fresh matchsticks. This helped her get some money to cover our needs. One wintry night I awoke to find Mother filling the matchboxes by candlelight. So I said, ‘Mother, go to sleep; it’s late: you can continue working tomorrow morning.’ Mother smiled and said ‘Go to sleep, son! I’m not tired.

Void Filler

Here's a poem penned down by my friend, Prateek Kinger. I really loved it and thought it would be great if I share it with you guys. Now having asked him for the same, I present you with the VOID FILLER...

I was there when she was lost,
I was there when emotions frost..

Was there for her when trust got shattered,
Was there for her when friendships got battered..

Was with her when no one was around,
Was with her in solitary graveyard surround..

Stood for her in hostile times,
Stood for her at all odds & primes..

Was the shoulder to cry for her in sadness,
Stretched my hand to comfort in darkness..

There developed a special relation to hold,
Became the trustworthy ear where secrets could be told..

Sometimes wished to shout out to the whole world,
Thoughts inside my mind intricately curled..
How lucky was I for having her,
But losing her someday was my only fear..

But as they say...

The Generation Y..!!

Life is not very smooth nowadays, thanks to the exams and tonnes of backlogs. In these times, I tend to remember this, one of the favorite quote of mine,

A good laugh and a long sleep are the best cures in the doctor's book.

So. following the same quote, I am planning for a long sleep this weekend. And as about a good laugh, here it is..!! Why we are called Generation Y..?? Here'z the answer -

The Silent Generation are people born before 1946.

The Baby Boomers
are people born between 1946 and 1959.

Generation X
are people born between 1960 and 1989.

Generation Y
are people born between 1990 and now.

Why do we call the last one generation Y?
I did not know, but a cartoonist explains it eloquently below...Learned something new today
